Ich heiße Tim und lebe in Dortmund.
Fotografie bedeutet für mich kreatives Schaffen, das Festhalten von Momenten und die Gestaltung mit Licht.
So richtig mit der Fotografie angefangen habe ich durch einen Fotokurs während meines Film- und Regiestudiums an der Ruhrakademie Schwerte im Jahr 2008: Die erste eigene Digitalkamera kaufen, Schwarz-Weiß-Filme selbst entwickeln, den digitalen Workflow kennenlernen. Jedoch fing meine Begeisterung für das Medium Foto schon sehr viel früher an.
Fotografie bedeutete für mich schon immer etwas sehr Persönliches. Diashows als Kind mit den Eltern hatten etwas magisches. Die 35mm-Kleinbildaufnahmen haben Momente und Erinnerungen für immer eingefangen. Man konnte an einen Ort oder in eine Zeit zurückreisen und einen Hauch dieser Augenblicke erleben.
Seitdem ist viel passiert und die Fotografie hat sich fortlaufend weiterentwickelt. Die digitale Welt hat die Filmrolle vom Markt gedrängt und der Workflow ist ein viel schnellerer geworden.
Auch bei mir ist viel passiert. Nach meinem Abschluss an der Ruhrakademie habe ich in der Filmbranche Fuß gefasst und arbeite seit 2014 im Lichtdepartment. Egal ob Kino, Werbung oder Fernsehen – ich nutze mein Wissen, um mit Licht zu gestalten. Die Erfahrung in diesem Handwerk lasse ich auch in meine Fotografie einfließen.
In der Porträt-, Werbe- und Landschaftsfotografie fühle ich mich am wohlsten. Ich arbeite hauptsächlich in Dortmund, bin aber auch gerne an anderen Orten mit meiner Kamera unterwegs. Dabei kreiere ich neue Momentaufnahmen und lerne viele interessante Persönlichkeiten kennen. Ich freue mich schon auf weitere solcher Momente.

My name is Tim and I live in Dortmund.
For me, photography is creative work, the capturing of moments and designing with light.
I really started getting into photography through a photo course during my film and director's studies at the Ruhrakademie Schwerte in 2008: buying my own digital camera, developing black and white films, getting to know the digital workflow. However, my enthusiasm for the medium photo started much earlier.
Photography has always meant something very personal for me. Looking at Slip shows as a child with my parents had something magical about it. The 35mm-photographs have captured moments and memories forever. You could travel back to a place or time and experience a glimpse of these moments.
A lot has happened since then and photography has continued to develop. The digital world pushed the film role from the market and the workflow has become much faster.
A lot has happened to me as well. After graduating from Ruhrakademie, I gained a foothold in the film industry and have been working in the light department since 2014. Whether it’s cinema, advertising or television - I use my knowledge to design with light. I also let the experience in this craft flow into my photography.
I feel most comfortable in portrait, advertisement and landscape photography. I mainly work in Dortmund, but I also like to travel to other places with my camera. I create new images and get to know many interesting personalities. I'm looking forward to more of these moments.
